Due to increased demand on the four lines modification programme (4LM) on the London underground, our Field Engineering team have a permanent opportuniy for experienced Field Engineer to join them. Although based in Stratford, this role will require travel to a number of locations throughout London and also will require some weekend and shift work, so flexibility is needed.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Support the values of the Thales Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams and will report any HSE issues or incidents.
- Support the technical assessment of on-site Installation Subcontractor queries alongside.
- Support the Installation Subcontractor with the reporting of installation queries.
- Responsible for reporting technical installation errors to the Lead Field Engineer.
- Support the technical assessment of design modifications.
- Support the reporting of subcontractor installation progress.
- Ensure all assigned work is completed to schedule, to budget and to quality.
- Ensure that monitoring and tracking procedures are followed and maintained.
- Develop and implement new strategies to improve the process.
- Distribute all technical information to the right people across the team.
- Assist Installation Project Managers in executing the installation strategy.
- Ensure the team adhere to the working processes defined in 4LM Installation documents.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with internal and external customers.
- Ensure industry best practice is established and maintained by the standardisation of site installation and testing techniques.
- Ensure rework cycles are minimised and lessons learnt deployed.
- Holder of an IRSE Installation licence or IRSE engineering equivalent
- Solid experience of the JNUP within the Installation department: wayside, SER or SCC works, or combination of these.
- Knowledge of or experience in signalling & mechanical design.
- Knowledge of or experience in following ILR change control process.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Flexible around working nights and days if required.
- Flexible around working from multiple locations in and around London.
