Engineering at D/Gauge
Being an engineer at D/Gauge isn’t about crunching numbers, our software and tools do that for us! It’s about adding value to our clients, by interpreting their needs, finding the best solutions, and communicating outcomes clearly and concisely.
Because we don’t spend our time number crunching, this leaves plenty of time to innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of the work we do.
Most of our time is spent problem solving, both for ourselves and our clients. We do this across a number of areas:
• Infrastructure design
• Vehicle design
• Train movements
• Electrification
• Passenger safety

The successful candidate will be fully supported in developing into a key member of the D/Gauge team.
Core responsibilities
The role is mainly project based, with client satisfaction and quality work being at the core of everything you do. You will be required to:
• Support new client conversations and maintain and improve ongoing client relationships
• Create proposals, complete and review project work
• Identify and support improvements in quality and efficiency
Non-technical and software skills
To do this effectively there are a number non-technical and software skills that would be beneficial, these are:
Non-technical skills:
• Communication
• Cooperation and collaboration
• Adaptability
• Organisation and time management
Software skills:
• ClearRoute / ClearRoute2.
• VAMPIRE, SIMPACK or other MBS software
• SQL server management studio
• Excel
