A Senior Electronics Engineer is required to join the R&D Department to deliver ground-breaking signalling system software-based products.
The Senior Electronics Engineer will be expected to undertake requirements analysis, architecting and design of the work in a core team of electronics engineers in a dynamic development environment providing high value early lifecycle development capability for both safety-critical and safety-related hardware developments. The focus of the team will be on producing electronics solutions, performing all parts of the development lifecycle. The team will use a mix of traditional and agile techniques to manage risk and ensure on-time delivery of quality hardware.
The Senior Electronics Engineer provides a technical role responsible for requirements analysis, hardware architecture, firmware implementation test and problem analysis on high-value safety-critical and safety-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- First degree or higher qualifications in Electronic engineering or a similar related discipline.
- Expert in analogue electronic engineering knowledge, with strong analytical skills and familiarity with SPICE simulators.
- Expert in Digital electronics, ideally with proficient knowledge of VHDL
- Experience in a low/medium volume manufacturing environment with knowledge of using PLM tools
- Self-motivated and commercially astute, with leadership and communication skills to supervise more junior engineers as required
- Experienced in use of CAD/CAE tools (ideally Mentor Graphics)
- Experience with writing technical reports and knowledge of standard office applications
- Experience of design for EMC compliance
- Experience of working in a team environment focused on project delivery
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of the rigorous requirements of a safety-critical environment
- Knowledge of IEC 61508
Desirable Requirements
- Chartered Status
- Knowledge of RAMS and CENELEC Standards <phone number removed> & 50129.
- Knowledge of railway signalling and safety critical standards
