My client is looking for a Head of Engineering to lead their engineering resources and assist in building great products for their customers. You will also manage their infrastructure and ensure all internal systems operate securely and effectively.

To be successful in this role, you should be confident in managing teams whilst, at the same time, setting goals, budgets, and timelines for various projects. You will be overseeing the company's integrations with external partners delivering plans from idea to execution.

This is both a strategic and technical role inside the company, involved in setting company direction a spart of the leadership team and being actively involved in the technical aspects of the development of products and identifying requirements.

Key responsibilities for this Head of Engineering role:

- Oversee front-end and back-end projects.
- Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, safety and quality.
- Manage engineering development projects by setting requirements, goals and timelines.
- Project management of the design phase of new projects and ongoing technical documentation.
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources.
- Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment.
- Provide technical advice to the business and group for commercial benefit.
- Evaluate customer technical specifications.
- Lead new product design and development.
- Risk assessments of products.
- Assist with QA auditing.

Experience required for this Head of Engineering role:

- Experience as a leader of engineering.
- Experience within the Rail industry, particularly focused on Rolling Stock and preference of door systems knowledge.
- Hands on experience in back-end and front-end project delivery.
- Good understanding of quality management systems and auditing management.
- Higher/Further education qualifications in relevant engineering field.
