Engineeing Director - Highways & Transport 

We are currently working with a Major consultancy who are searching for a Director to lead their Transport and Infrastructure division in the South-East, based from London. The successful candidate would have an exciting opportunity to provide crucial business development strategies, whilst supporting team management and project direction. This Highways & Transport Director job is a permanent role in London.

The successful candidate must have a demonstratable track record of providing business development and new opportunities for growth within the public or private sectors, and would have a strong technical background in order to communicate ideas and innovations to projects. You will also be responsible for providing resourcing directions as workload increases and the business is driven forward.

This role will predominantly be an outward-facing, client engagement and operations management position. Due to the large business and varying team locations, you must be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written.

In the early aspects of the role, you will be expected to lead a medium/large team of Civil Engineers whilst building on exiting relations with clients. You will be mentoring and developing the team as a whole, in turn driving the success of projects and the teams capabilities further. You will also have opportunities to represent the business at events, such as speaking or presenting at marketing, communications or other events.

Job Description:

-          Have a record of team leadership and operational management
-          Have experience in winning work with existing and new clients
-          Experience in design and project management of major residential, commercial, retail and urban regeneration schemes
-          Create and grow a pipeline of clients and business for consultancy opportunities
-          Provide technical and project directorship
-          Oversee the collaboration between multidisciplinary teams
-          Have multidisciplinary project management experience in highways and/or rail schemes
-          Liaise with clients and other stakeholders internal and external to the business
-          Lead negotiations with clients such as local/national authorities and private developers

This is a permanent job in London with a major consultancy who are looking for a Director to lead the Infrastructure & Transport Team, and to provide outwards business development capabilities.
