Junior Highways Engineer / Junior Highways Technician

This position comes with fully 100% remote working capabilities due to the nature of the consultancy.

We are currently working with a Civil and Structural consultancy who predominantly work on small to medium sized residential development schemes, and are looking for a Junior Highways Engineer or Junior Highways Technician to support their workload. The consultancy is based in London, but candidates could be based anywhere in the UK as there are no office requirements.  

This role would be an ideal position for a graduate highways engineer with existing software capabilities who are looking for a position with a wide range of responsibilities, and which may develop your professional skills more than a major consultancy.

You will be involved with:

-       Producing 3D highways and/or drainage designs for residential developments
-       Speaking with and engage with clients to ensure projects are delivered successfully
-       Liaising with statutory bodies and producing designs for S278 and S38 schemes
-       Report to the Technical Director who leads the Highways Design business unit
-       Manage and develop your own projects with input and mentorship from the TD

The ideal candidate will have:

-       A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant qualification
-       Have previous design experience with AutoCAD (at minimum)
-       Ideally have some experience with one of the following: Civils 3D, Site3D, PDS
-       Ideally experience with MicroDrainage, TUFLOW or CausewayFLOW
-       Some understanding of S278 and S38 schemes
-       Have some understanding of the DMRB or MCHW

This is a permanent, full time, junior-end position for a developing highways engineer, who would like an opportunity to develop their technical software capabilities and personal project management capabilities.
