JOB TITLE: 2 x Electrical Modification Technicians
6 x Mechanical Modification Technicians
JOB LOCATION: Neasden Depot and Ruislip Depot, London.
HOURLY PAY RATE: £20.50Ltd (Increased to £22.50Ltd once you are RAIL COMPETENT)
SHIFTS: Monday to Friday - Days & Nights. NO WEEKENDS.
SHIFT TIMES: 07.00am 17.00pm DAYS / <phone number removed> NIGHTS.
HOURS PER WEEK: 50 hours a week. Work 10 hour shift per day.
DURATION: 18 months
START DATE: July 2016.
INTERVIEW DATE: Wednesday 29th June 2016 (Must be available to interview on this date).
Industries considered: RAF, REME, Army, Navy, Marine, Avionics, Rolling Stock, Commercial/Industrial Electrics, Defence, Plant Engineering.
Disciplines considered: Electrical Engineer, Electrician, Avionic Technician, Aircraft Electrician, Electrical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, and Breakdown Engineer.
Position Summary:
All of our SSL fleet of trains need to be returned to Derby to be fitted out with ATC (Automatic train control). The full fleet of trains will have to go through a De-commissioning stage for their return back to our Derby factory to have this modification implemented. Once complete the trains will be returned and go back into passenger service.
Job duties could include the following:
• Carry out installation of Automatic Train control unit (Speed Control Mechanism)
• Carry out basic electrical Testing and fault rectification using a Fluke Meter
• Carry out basic Heating & Ventilation modifications
• Carry out Shoe Gear Removal & Replace
• Carry out Step board removal
• Gearbox inspection, repair and analysis
• Wheel exchange on wheel sets / Bearing, axle and wheel mounting inspection
• Changing relay boxes / Driver seats / Wiper motors /Couplers
Qualifications:
ELECTRICAL CANDIDATES: A must is a formal electrical engineering qualification i.e. apprenticeship, Degree, HND, HNC, 16th/17 edition, 239/1 or 239/2 Test & Inspect Certificate.
MECHANICAL CANDIDATES: A must is a formal mechanical engineering qualification i.e. apprenticeship, Degree, HND, HNC or NVQ Level 3.
