Role: Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Coventry

A Geotechnical Engineering opportunity has arisen in the Coventry area for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to be a technical lead in the office for a well-respected bespoke Geotechnical & Geo-Environmental consultancy. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of complexity - multi-story structures, commercial developments, earthworks and sheds.

As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, it will be expected that you can manage your own projects on a technical, commercial and financial basis. You will be the technical lead for the office reporting directly into the directors. You will also have the chance to manage a small team, but your focus will be Geotechnical project delivery.

The Principal Geotechnical Engineer responsibilities will surround technical delivery of GIR, interpretation, earthwork assessments, design / software for foundations, slope stability, ground modelling, cut / fill, heave, settlement calcs etc. This will also be a client facing role so having to attend meetings to discuss solutions is essential.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer Specification:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology with a relative MSc;
• Circa 10 years of Geotechnical Engineering (consultative) experience;
• Well-rounded knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and design of foundation / slope stability;
• Extensive experience running and managing your own Geotechnical projects;
• Extensive technical reporting experience;
• Geo-Environmental experience is preferred but not essential.
