Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Location: York
Salary: Circa £55,000 - £65,000 negotiable dependant on level of experience plus package including:

Summary
A successful employee owned engineering design consultancy that provides technical services to clients including construction firms, transport agencies, local authorities, engineering consultants and private clients throughout the UK is looking to hire a Principal Geotechnical Engineer for their Geotechnical department in York.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis for major infrastructure projects.
- Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensure technical compliance.
- Provide technical oversight and approval for complex solutions.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure project compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage project teams, ensuring deliverables are on time and within budget
- Build strong client relationships and secure new business opportunities.
- Guide and mentor senior engineers, providing technical and managerial support.
- Oversee the financial management and profitability of projects
- Represent the company in industry events and technical publications.
- Attend meetings representing the team as well as representing the company in industry events and technical publications.
The ideal candidate will have;
- 10+ years of design experience in a relevant discipline with a successful track record of leading and delivering high-profile projects.
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject
- Experience of some of the following structures - bridges, tunnels, stations & buildings and design using various materials, eg - concrete, steel, timber, masonry
- A knowledge of Autocad, general geotechnical design software and MS Office.
- Rail experience would also be an advantage but not essential.
- Relevant design experience includes but not limited to earthwork design, slope stability, foundation design, pile design, soil nailing, ground anchors, gravity and embedded retaining wall design.
- Knowledge of Eurocode and CDM regulations.
- Chartered Membership to a relevant professional body
