We are currently working with a reputable engineering consultancy seeking to recruit a Principal Highways Engineer (Team Leader Position) to lead one of their design teams which consist of engineers and technicians working on the design and procurement of highway and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background to support the design delivery of existing projects as well as the growth of their existing client base.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and reviewing the preparation of designs, drawings and reports for a variety of highway and infrastructure proposals.
- Preparing of site appraisals for residential developments.
- Undertaking feasibility and pre-planning assessments of engineering infrastructure.
- Liaising with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Managing and mentoring of engineers and technicians and reviewing technical outputs.
- Project management, team management and budgetary control.
- Business development through client liaison, networking and preparation of bids and proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered or working towards chartered status with a recognized professional institution (e.g. ICE or IHE or CIHT) is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure design at concept, feasibility and preliminary level.
- Good knowledge of relevant policy and design standards (e.g. DMRB, Sewers for Adoption).
- Experience in the design and supervision of adopted drainage and highways.
- Experience of NEC3 contracts and complying with Designer Duties under CDM.
- Competent in the use of AutoCAD, PDS/3D Civils and WinDes Microdrainage.
