We are dealing with a major consultancy who are looking to expand their Environmental and Water Resources Team by recruiting a Principal Rivers Engineer, or Principal Watercourse / Hydrology Engineer in Birmingham.

This would be a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer or Senior Engineer to develop their skill set and career.

In the role, you will predominantly be using fluvial modelling software for hydraulic analysis of weirs, discharge capacity, hydraulic jump, scour protection, flood risk assessments and surface water drainage design. You will also have the support and guidance of the senior leadership team when undertaking your wider duties which could include communicating with Clients and Project Engineers to outline project requirements. You will also undertake your own personal research to gain further understanding of the project. You will lead project teams, ensuring that you plan and manage flood risk assessments and other packages of work. You will also be working alongside other teams to develop solutions to river engineering problems, as well as work with the senior leadership team to establish new opportunities to develop the business and junior staff.

Job description:

-          Bachelors or Masters Degree in a Civil Engineering subject
-          Idealy en route to Chartership with IWEM
-          Undertake personal research into projects
-          Experience undertaking flood risk assessments
-          Experience with HEC-RAS and hydraulic analysis
-          Experience developing and delivering river design solutions
-          Experience coordinating and managing water-modelling and flood risk projects
-          Provide technical review capabilities
-          Some project management understanding or appreciation

This is a permanent job with a major consultancy who are looking for a Principal River Modeller / Principal Rivers Engineer / Principal Water and Flood Risk Engineer in the Birmingham region on a full time basis.

With a hybrid working week, this would be a great opportunity for a River Design Engineer in the Sutton Coldfield, Nottingham, Walsall or Solihull regions.
