We are looking for a Professional Head of Systems Engineering to work in one of our rail hubs in the UK.

AECOM are seeking a Professional Head of Discipline - System Engineering. This role provides the technical leadership to the System Engineering community within AECOM rail business. This role covers the entire PRAMS spectrum including systems engineering and can be based from any of our rail hubs in the UK.

Role Purpose:

To act as the Professional Head of Systems Engineering within the Rail, Bridges and Structures Sector by providing technical leadership and acting as a focal point for the discipline. The post holder will provide guidance and leadership to staff within the discipline, across the sub sector and will represent RBS at a senior level externally in the industry.

Internally you will provide strong technical support to the discipline in terms of bid production, mentoring and developing staff competencies and developing relationships across regions including overseas. The role holder will actively participate in project delivery and contribute to the internal growth of the discipline. Externally you will develop relationships with industry peers and keep abreast of technical and technological developments in the discipline. You will be the senior focal point for the discipline in the RBS sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the discipline competency management system

• Be a part of the engineering leadership team

• Support technical approach to bids

• Ensure adequate resourcing is available to regional delivery directors

• Undertake system and safety engineering aspects of project delivery
