CLIENT

Linum Consult’s client is RB Rail AS: a joint venture between Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania for the Rail Baltica high speed rail project. They are currently in need of a Railway Systems Engineer to oversee the design reviews of all the railway systems. Linum Consult is conducting this search exclusively for RB Rail AS, to be based in their regional office in Tallinn, Estonia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading the complex technical analysis and design review for all aspects of railway systems
• Undertaking the functional concept design, development, and review of technical solutions, specifications, and cost estimates
• Defining the functional and technical interfaces between systems and subsystems, and the overall management of interfaces
• Assigning work and overseeing work produced by designers and/or suppliers, developing scopes of work and engineering fee estimates
• Reviewing the assigned work and/or checking design calculations estimates and specifications produced by systems designers
• Closely cooperating with national Implementing Bodies and stakeholders
• Participating in the preparation of technical specifications and participating at the company’s public procurement committees

PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 10 years’ experience in 1435mm railway systems engineering, design, supervision, and acceptance, within an engineering company, infrastructure manager, or construction company
• Experience in high-speed line railway engineering
• Knowledge of RAMS concepts
• Project management experience (budgeting, estimating/forecasting/costing and reporting, resources planning, allocation
• Knowledge of AutoCAD suite or similar design tools, and knowledge of FIDIC conditions of contract for construction
• Fluent in English, and ideally a Baltic language
• Very strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to express and present technical concepts to stakeholders
• The right to live and work in Estonia
