The Role
SEMP are looking for Requirements Engineers to join our team, based in both Warrington and Bristol you will be joining a handpicked team with a diverse range of industry experience, with a shared desire to make a difference.
Key Tasks
- Responsible for supporting the definition of project requirements, including acceptance criteria for the design and commissioning of works.
- Supporting the definition of design and requirements acceptance criteria for the design and commissioning of works.
- Help define and manage technical strategies for requirements, including standards and principles, to achieve and assure that the requirements have been met.
- Provide technical assurance compliance of the verification and validation processes with internal and external stakeholders.
- Delivering requirements and specification activities to enable the delivery of systems and achieve the necessary safety and performance results.
- Liaising with third-party designers and contractors to ensure the correct production of evidence to satisfy requirements.
- Managing requirements utilising DOORS / DOORS Next, or other client requirements management systems.
- Reporting on requirements status and escalating any potential project issues or risks.
- Monitor project scope and manage design and requirements scope.
- Discussing with and eliciting information from SMEs/Stakeholders.
- Leading and supporting delivery of implementation of requirements management strategies, processes, and tools.
Knowledge and Experience
- Required Previous experience in using requirements management software, such as DOORS.
- Engineering background (Electrical/Mechanical/Systems).
- Experience in requirements management through the complete lifecycle of a project and associated approaches and techniques, ideally on a large infrastructure project within the Rail Industry.
- Understanding best practice for substantiating requirements and progressing through the Verification & Validation cycle.
- Ability to identify where evidence is insufficient and propose corrective actions.
- Capability to analyse requirements systems and processes, capture the key parameters, input evidence and present to wider project.
- Demonstratable responsibility for successfully delivering requirements activities on a project in a safety-critical environment.
- Delivery and assurance of integrated safety-critical solutions within complex projects.
- Analysis of complex data, drawing effective conclusions and rapidly producing outcomes and decisions.
- Influencing skills, including negotiating, and enabling joint decision-making with collaborators.
- Demonstrated ability to implement best practice and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Risk management and control of requirements management tools and methodologies. Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders.
Desirable
Professional Institute membership within a relevant field or working towards it.
