Job Title: Requirement Systems Engineer

Job Description:

Our client transforms the performance of infrastructure projects by applying a systems approach to delivery. They partner with infrastructure owners and delivery organisations in the UK and internationally to reduce the risks associated with complex projects.

We are currently looking for a skilled Requirement Systems Engineer to fill a Principal/Senior role, with the potential to consider candidates with 2-3 years of experience for a junior/grad position. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the organization by overseeing the requirements engineering process and ensuring that the project goals are met efficiently and effectively. This role will be based in the Northwest, with regular travel to York and the Warrington office, and the option for periodic remote work, as needed.

You will be working as part of a team with some of the leading experts in their field, you will support both the Group and Clients to deliver on some of the world’s most exciting and complex projects. Working within the ‘Systems Approach to Capital Projects’ capability team, you will have the opportunity to teach as well as gain further knowledge and experience in applying a systems approach to infrastructure delivery, across diverse areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the definition of project requirements, including acceptance criteria for the design and commissioning of works.
  • Validation of the definition of design and requirements acceptance criteria for the design and commissioning of works.
  • Define and manage technical strategies for requirements, including standards and principles, to achieve and assure that the requirements have been met.
  • Provide technical assurance compliance of the verification and validation processes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver requirements and specification activities to enable the delivery of systems and achieve the necessary safety and performance results.
  • Liaise with third party designers and contractors to ensure correct production of evidence to satisfy requirements.
  • Manage requirements utilising DOORS / DOORS Next, or other client requirements management systems.
  • Report on requirements status and escalating any potential project issues or risks.
  • Monitor project scope and manage design and requirements scope.
  • Discussing with and eliciting information from SMEs/Stakeholders.
  • Leading and supporting delivery of implementation of requirements management strategies, processes, and tools.

Essential Criteria:

Degree qualified in an Engineering or relevant Scientific discipline.

Comes from an Engineering background (Electrical/Mechanical/Systems).

CEng or progressing CEng professional registration.

3 to 5 years industrial experience (which could be Rail, Defence or Nuclear, or other, but you must be able to demonstrate how your skills and experience translate).

3 to 5 years’ experience implementing requirements management using software such as DOORS/DOORS Next.

Experience in requirements management through the complete lifecycle of a project and associated approaches and techniques, ideally on a large infrastructure project within an industry such as Rail, Defence or Nuclear

Understanding best practice for substantiating requirements and progressing through the Verification & Validation cycle
