This is a great opportunity for an experienced Rolling Stock Engineer to join a main contractor and work within the Rolling Stock industry.

Key responsibilities for this Rolling Stock Engineer role:
- To provide technical advice and support on the manufacture, delivery and commissioning of the new fleet, to include:
- Compliance with fleet specification and standards
- Infrastructure compatibility
- Supporting on site assurance inspections supporting the oversight of the manufacturing process
- Pre-delivery inspections
- New Fleet delivery
- Testing and commissioning
- Safety and regulatory approvals (including CSM RA)
- The post forms part of the project team delivering the new fleet of Metro trains and as such the primary responsibility of the post will be to that team.
- To support in the transition from the current fleet to the new fleet.
Experience required for this Rolling Stock Engineer role:
- Degree qualified in an Electrical or Mechanical engineering subject, or equivalent relevant experience and qualification.
- Working with rolling stock electrical, mechanical and software based systems including completing inspections and testing.
- Knowledge of commissioning and testing of rolling stock.
- Knowledge of European, Railway Industry (RIS) and Group (RGS) standards and other railway specific engineering standards.
- Knowledge of rolling stock technical specifications and ensuring compliance.
- Knowledge of working with rolling stock manufacturers and their processes.
Desirable experience required for this Rolling Stock Engineer role:
- Knowledge and experience of working with railway Train Operating Companies (TOC) or Freight Operating Companies (FOC).
- Knowledge of the application of Common Safety Method for Risk Assessment (CSM RA).
