We are dealing with an ever-growing Engineering contractor who are looking at expanding their design office in Bristol, by recruiting a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer. This would be working on a range of projects focused around infrastructure which includes Geotechnical schemes to supplement both permanent and temporary works. As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer youll support the delivery of projects working within the existing Geotechnical and Civil Engineering teams. Within this role you will encompass problem identification, feasibility assessment, detailed design and project management.

As the Geotechnical Engineer typical duties can incudes:

• Undertaking concept & detailed design.
• Preparing technical reports (e.g. Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design repots).
• Communicating design via clear and well-presented drawings and sketches.
• Preparing desk studies, ground investigation scopes and specifications.

Job Requirements

• You should be civil/geotechnical engineer with design experience in the following: earthwork design, slope stability, foundation design, pile design, soil nailing, ground anchors, gravity and embedded retaining wall design
• Minimum 5 years
• Knowledge of Eurocode and CDM regulations.
• Degree qualified in civil engineering plus MSc in geotechnical engineering.
• Chartered or working towards it
• Good knowledge of Autocad and Slope/W (or similar) is required as well as general design software.

 
As mentioned, this position is based in Bristol, so could suit candidates in the surrounding areas such as Swindon or Cardiff.
