We are currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to be based in Basingstoke working for an ever-growing and reputable technical Engineering consultancy. You will work on a range of major and minor schemes within infrastructure such as Rail and Highways, undertaking design works. This would be a technical position with the emphasis on Geotechnical Design in which you will have geotechnical input to projects which may include design of foundations, slopes, retaining walls etc.

Within the position you will undertake the civil design of foundations, slopes, retaining walls and many other geotechnical elements will also form a key aspect of the role, together with assessment of existing structures and design of remedial measures where appropriate, which you will have to work closely with the civil project team to identify and communicate geotechnical requirements, so they are effectively incorporated into the project delivery

This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with background in design working to progress into a Senior, or alternatively a Senior Geotechnical Engineer looking for a fresh challenge.

Job Requirements

• Typically, 5+ years experience with a proven track record in geotechnical design work and experience across a range of projects, ideally gained within a consulting environment.
• Ideally Chartered, Incorporated or operating at this level
• Proficient in geotechnical FEM software such as FREW, ALP, PILE, SLOPE and PDisp or similar
