We are currently dealing with a large consultancy who are looking for a Senior/Highways Engineer to join their Manchester Team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate must have Infrastructure or Major Highways experience, and have working knowledge of legislation and guidelines, including the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, British and European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.

In the role, you will be helping on highway improvement schemes, and arrange the procurement of these projects through completing tender packages. You must be confident with producing tenders under NEC3 contracts, Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works, including utilisation of the Specification for Highway Works and the Standard Method of Measurement.

You will also be expected to undertake feasibility studies, which entails the preparation of reports, cost estimates, problem-solving and providing resolutions. The role will also include site-visits, particularly regarding supervision and monitoring site-works.

Job Specification:

-          Have experience in Infrastructure Development or Major Highways schemes
-          Have a Bachelors degree or be/approaching Chartership
-          Experience in management and implementation of highways/infrastructure design and construction
-          Knowledge of standard highway and civil engineering manuals, guidelines and legislation (DMRB, British & European standards, Eurocodes, Codes of Practice)
-          Knowledge of contract handling, particularly conditions of contract and methods of measurement
