Senior Highways Engineer National Highways projects

After having a highly successful and profitable couple years throughout this difficult time, this destination employer are now searching for a Senior Highways Engineer to support their North-London/Hertfordshire base.

With a technically strong leadership team, your experience and project exposure will be bolstered with a variety of major highways projects, including large-scale junction and roundabout improvements, through to multi-lane highway designs.

Predominantly working in the Transport field, the consultancy has one of the most reputable and established highways teams in the UK with close ties to various nationally operational clients, they work on some of the most complex and demanding multidisciplinary projects.

The role:

In the role of Senior Highways Engineer, you will be working closely with the branch Director, ensuring that their projects and requests for technical deliverables are produced within budget and deadline restrictions. You will have the support of junior engineers and technicians who will assist you in your personal goals, and with the works required by the Director.

You will be mainly responsible for delivering major highway design projects. Aspects of this would include liaising with clients to ensure designs and parameters are clearly understood or troubleshooted. Furthermore, you will have design management duties, especially of those supporting you work, and will also be responsible for budgetary control to ensure projects are delivered with successful profit margins. In regards to design management, you will also be expected to manage the local design team, as well as work collaboratively with both domestic and international consulting offices.

Job Description:

-          Chartership with a relevant Institute
-          Strong technical experience (Civil 3D/MX at minimum, MicroDrainage would be considered)
-          Experience leading/managing the works of junior engineers and technicians
-          Experience in developing junior engineers and technicians
-          Support the local management team in their projects and workload
-          Support BIM Level 2 delivery
-          Be a clear communicator, both to external parties and internal staff
