Viaduct/ Bridge Structural Engineer

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Viaduct Project Manager for a recently awarded major project in the South East Asia.

My client is an International consultancy firm who have been awarded the contract to provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major Infrastructure project consisting of Rail Bridges and Viaducts.

Responsibilities on the project:

The Structural Engineer 1 (Viaduct & Bridges) is responsible for the

1) Preparation of bid documents, tender assistance and evaluation of bids from the Contractors.

2) Review and modification of the detailed engineering design and construction plans (including shop drawings) for the Viaduct and Bridge structures.

3) Review the Contractor's work plan and identify the feasibility of their work method statements.

4) Evaluation of claims, variations orders and value engineering proposals submitted by the Contractors.

5) Coordinating and interfacing with Architect & Building, E&M and Track teams on matters relating to Bridges and Viaducts

6) Assist the QA/QC team, construction management team, and material engineers on various Viaduct and Bridge structures technical matters.

7) Drafting letters in response to the Contractor's submittals based on the project Contract guidelines.

8) Assist the BIM team with managing the Contractor's BIM execution plan.

9) Assist the Client with various inter-agency coordination meetings.

He is required to have experience in Design/Construction of Balanced Cantilever Bridges and/or Segmental Viaducts. Reporting to the Civil Project Manager.

Key requirements for the role:

• University degree in Civil Engineering (civil works);
• Ideally A professional license from a recognised licensing board
• 10+ years experience on large Infrastructure projects including Bridges and viaducts and international long-term assignments.
• Regional experience would be beneficial

Language:

Fluent in English is essential

Salary Package:

The salary package shall be $8000 per month (tax free) with a full expatriate package.
