Systems Engineer in United Kingdom
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Rail Systems/Signalling Engineer to work with a multi-award winning Engineering Design Consultancy. This will be working remotely with future opportunities to work in Australia. Our client will consider Systems Engineers of different levels but you will need to have a minimum of 3 years experience. Your salary will be adjusted depending on your level of experience.
Although the role will be mainly technical, an ability to price and win work, manage budgets and show ambition to drive the company forward would also be required.
The team work across all types of railway systems and their clients range from local developers through to international contractors working for public sector bodies.
Key skills/experience:

A Systems Engineer who has good knowledge of all rail disciplines, but specialises in Signalling with good knowledge of Design and/or Engineering Assurance across the full project lifecycle.
- Technical independence within the field of Systems Engineering, covering aspects of preliminary and detailed design in addition to good knowledge of installation and testing requirements, for heavy or light rail solutions.
- Good understanding of the requirements capture process and tools required for demonstrating verification and validation.
- Good knowledge of European Train Control Systems and Communication Based Train Control solutions.
- Sound knowledge of the interfaces between different rail systems such as Track, Signalling, Traction Power, Low Power, Civils etc. and the ability to communicate and integrate with the relevant designers to find a holistic railway system solution.
- The use of the Microsoft Office Suite of software, including Excel.
Experience of one of the following would also be beneficial:
- Experience of Design production, using CAD software such as Bentley MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Experience of undertaking Installation &/or Testing on heavy or light rail projects.
- Experience of undertaking Project Engineering activities across the project delivery lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- HNC/D or equivalent academic level as a minimum.
- The successful candidate will ideally be professionally accredited (e.g. INCOSE, IRSE, IET) or working towards IEng/EngTech.
