We are looking for an Integration Engineer within the Rail Systems team working on the new Highspeed Rail project being based in Birmingham. Within the position you will undertake collaborative working dealing with all core disciplines analyzing the technical requirements in regards to Rail Systems. As the Integration Engineer you will provide railway integration specialist support to ensure that the Highspeed railway delivers the Capabilities to achieve the end-state railway performance for passengers, the operator and the general public. Key elements include identifying and developing requirements, determining multi-disciplinary design solutions and providing the evidence that the sub-system contract contributions will deliver an integrated High-Speed railway. - Work closely with technical specialists in engineering, operations and maintenance and system-safety to ensure that the development and delivery of the Capabilities are fully integrated;
- Articulate multi-disciplinary technical integration recommendations to the Lead Capability Integration engineer and peers;
- provide specialist technical support and leadership on systems as well as sub-systems level discipline-specific scientific, technical and engineering principles to project development / delivery teams, but knowing when to seek further guidance from other Subject Matter Expert or others.
- lead appropriate analysis and modelling to define the multi-disciplinary requirements, interfaces and technical solutions
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of application of systems engineering.
- Knowledge of application of the Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment;
- Experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering and safety standards, activity on large complex major projects/ programmes within a complex infrastructure delivery programme.
- Multidiscipline Rail experience, which includes Rolling Stock
- Understanding of systems engineering and a range of sub-systems involved in railways;
