As an Environment Specialist your main key responsibilities would be to:
- Provide expert support and guidance on all environmental matters, particularly those regarding energy/carbon, to deliver legislative compliance.
- Update and maintain environmental records and documentation to support the environment management system and emergency plans.
- Provide the focus for liaison arrangements with environmental stakeholders.
- Produce and undertake a programme of surveillance and inspection checks.
- Monitor closeout of environmental non-conformances.
Essential:
- Good understanding of UK and European environmental legislation and regulation, particularly those governing energy and/or carbon.
- Good understanding of environmental management system.
- Knowledge of maintenance delivery process and techniques.
- Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of operational railway environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard.
- Membership of professional body.
