This role sits within the Water and Environment practice, which offers a comprehensive range of specialist services within the environmental consultancy sector. Nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise in planning and overseeing complex and sensitive projects, their skills have been utilised by a wide range of clients within the public and private sectors including the European Commission, government, water companies and developers.
About the role:
We are looking for a consultant to join the EIA team. The role will support project managers across the Water and Environment practice. You will be expected to lead tasks and support project managers in the delivery of a wide range of projects, in particular within the infrastructure and water sectors. The successful applicant will have practical experience of EIA and/or SEA within the UK planning system. You must be able to demonstrate technical expertise, but will also be responsible for delivering project requirements to budget and on time.
About You:
You will provide support on planning, EIA and SEA projects and be responsible for the delivery of project tasks to satisfy client requirements. You will lead tasks and co-ordinate a wide range of studies, interact with clients and assist in the development of follow-on work and new opportunities as they arise.
Bachelors (2.1 or above)
EIA and SEA experience
Working knowledge of the UK planning system
Consultancy experience
Membership of or working towards membership of the RTPI, IEMA or similar professional body
Experience in the water industry would be beneficial
Good IT skills in commonly used software and experience in QGIS would be beneficial
Excellent team working skills together with strong communication skills and a close attention to detail
Enthusiastic and self-motivated to thrive in this busy and demanding environment
Strong report writing skills
Ability to give presentations
Proven communications and management skills
Excellent organisational skills
