As a business that is already well established within the UK Infrastructure market, NGE have worked on a number of the UK's most prestigious Major Projects and Alliance Partnerships in the last few years (inc' HS1, HS2, Crossrail, CRSA and Optical Fibre Deployment).

Together we are seeing rapid and continual growth, with a pipeline of existing and tendered projects and Alliances.

To support this growth and the development they are looking for an ambitious and innovative Projects Finance Controller for our UK subsidiaries to realise the financial follow up of our railway works and fibre works projects, based out of their London Head Office.

As the Projects Finance Controller, you will report directly into the CFO, and liaise with main Stakeholders within the business and clients, including; Commercial & Projects Managers, Chief Accountant, Project accountants, Finance manager, Regional finance controllers.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of two people responsible for project accounting and finance
  • Prepare reporting pack including backlog, project profit and loss, Revenue, Costs, Margin, overheads and the analysis with comments
  • Monitor project budget vs actuals with variance analysis
  • Assist with the preparation of Work in progress and accruals
  • Manage Sub-contractor portfolio's including Payment certificate and retention
  • Raise client invoice as per Payment certificate and reconcile differences
  • Maintain regular communication with Commercial Managers and project leads to understand project progress and budget evolutions.
  • Introduce procedures that will enhance financial profitability
  • Work with project team to identify weaknesses and problem areas and to provide resolutions

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • ACCA / AAT Qualified
  • Prior experience as a Project Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and practices.
  • Solid leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand operational aspects of projects and relate them to financial data.

The package will include (not limited to): London Weighting, Travel Allowance, Health Care, Pension, Bonus Scheme etc, with training and development being at the heart of the companies culture and values.

Please be aware this Projects Finance Controller role is an office based role, with flexible working available but is not a remote / hybrid role. There will also be some requirement to travel to regional and client offices.
