Are you a General Foreman feeling like your role is not providing you with the diversity of work to keep you on your toes?! With the company’s rail division boasting an immense work bank, this role is positioned in the market for somebody who can hit the ground running on a variety of civil engineering and asset management rail projects.

The Opportunity

Working site to site throughout Yorkshire, you can expect to see yourself working on a variety of Rail projects within the LNE region such as general civils, asset management works, bridges, and more. This will see you travelling throughout the Yorkshire so it will require somebody who is flexible to lodge and travel – fully expensed by the company.

What is expected of me as General Foreperson?

  • Fulfil the General Foreperson responsibilities as laid out in the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
  • Manage and supervise the site operations including labour, sub-contractors, plant and materials.
  • Produce and brief method statements and task briefings to all reporting personnel.
  • Daily White Board Briefs, Deliver Toolbox Talks, Brief Task Briefs.
  • Keep a site Diary, accurate records, and deliver site reports to the Client.
  • Contribute to planning of works on a daily basis and plan efficient use of resource.
  • Weekly SHEQ.
  • Close call reporting.

Package:

The company are offering a generous package of £40,000 - £45,000 basic per annum DOE, company van, 25 days holiday, travel and lodging fully expensed, Westfield Healthcare plan and 5% matched pension.

With the position offering such a breadth of long-term work, somebody keen to progress within the company would be an ideal fit and you would be provided with a clear succession plan to your desired goals.

About you

You will have a proven track record working within a main contractor on Network rail projects consisting of civil engineering, stations, bridges, platforms etc. Due to the fast nature of works, it is essential that you can work in a fast-paced environment and ideally have worked on smaller valued projects.

  • SSSTS/SMSTS and CSCS tickets are essential, and you must also hold a Full UK driving license.
  • It is essential that you’re somebody who is flexible to travel long distances.
