What will I be doing?
As a talented and strategic operational manager you will lead and manage INFRA Skills to deliver increased revenue and profitability through the provision of outstanding quality delivery of all aspects of Learning and Development programmes including: commercial, apprenticeships, funded or internal for group companies. You will take responsibility for and drive excellent quality outcomes and audit inspections of all regulatory, awarding and accrediting bodies, funded bodies, clients – leading the team to ensure absolute safety and compliance. You will utilise your strategic knowledge and awareness to work alongside the board to develop the company’s overall business strategies and operational plans to implement and effect change in the daily environment. On a day to day basis, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing all activities involved with a forward thinking Learning and Development business – particularly Quality Assurance requirements.
- Developing and riving both long and short- term operational plans from the Organisation’s strategic plan.
- Leading, developing and manage a successful team to effectively implement all plans.
- Developing productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Meeting with existing clients to plan forward thinking L & D strategies which can provide a regular secured income.
- Leading and developing business with new and lapsed clients to develop work streams and expand portfolio of clients and training capability.
- Identifying, writing and leading pre-qualified questionnaires, tenders and bid submissions.
- Identifying and sourcing routes to funding, ensuring full compliance in the administration and delivery of funding programmes including Adult Education budget, apprenticeships and government funded initiatives (eg Kickstart)
- Driving innovation and thinking to support clients, learners and staff
- Managing the development, coaching and mentoring of new and existing staff
- Leading standardisation and team meetings
- Leading and managing quality assurance activities, including QIP and SAR
- Ensuring all health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility
- Developing and manage relevant business processes
- Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical and social requirements
- Leading, planning and implementing change in your area of responsibility
- Recruiting, selecting and retaining colleagues
- Motivating staff and reducing any conflict within team
- Conducting 1 to 1 staff reviews and set SMART target and goals
- Managing finance for your area of responsibility – set budgets, mange costs to drive IFS growth
- Managing physical resources successfully
What experience would we like you to have?
To be successful in this role you will hold significant experience of working at a senior and strategic level within the training, learning and development sector. Proven auditing experience and knowledge of Learning and Development funding and regulatory bodies (including ESFA, OFSTED and local authorities) is essential along with learning and development / training qualifications and an Assessor / IV (IQA) Award. Knowledge of the construction and / or rail sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
