Balfour Beatty VINCI’s (BBV) Labour Desk has exciting opportunities for jobseekers to access opportunities generated as a result of HS2. Join the BBV Skills Academy pre-employment training for jobs programmes across the West Midlands. Participants will be able to undertake a 6 to 8 week pre-employment training programme and a 2-week work trial on the project which could lead to permanent employment and/or apprenticeship opportunities.
Role Purpose:
As part of Skills Academy programme, we are offering jobseekers the opportunity to gain access to and experience on the biggest infrastructure project in the UK.
You will attend short-term accredited training and gain the CSCS qualification, which is the minimum requirement for working on construction sites. Once you have successfully completed the training programme you will have a 2 week paid work trial on a Balfour Beatty Vinci HS2 site across the West Midlands with an opportunity of full-time employment after the work trial.
What you'll be doing:
- A six to eight week training course to give you an insight into the industry and the basic skills to work on construction sites.
- Complete the General Labourer CSCS card and 1 day Health & Safety Awareness course.
- Modern slavery, mental health awareness, Fairness Inclusion and Respect and HS2 Safe at Heart training.
- Attend one of a number of colleges/training providers around the West Midlands to complete the pre-employment training.
- Once you graduate from the course- you will be offered a 2-week paid work trial on the HS2 Project at one of Balfour Beatty Vinci locations where you will be mentored and gain valuable site experience.
- After the work trial you have the potential to be offered a permanent role on site directly employed by one of the labour desk members.

- People who enjoy working as part of a team operating in a reliable, safe and productive manner.
- Previous experience is not essential - all training will be provided.
Overview
