Rolling Stock & Depots

As a General Foreman at MCL Rail you will always work in and promote a safe manner following appropriate procedures and instructions at all times.

You will organise, motivate and supervise all site operatives & subcontractors as well as identifying training needs and competencies of site operatives.

You will be responsible for liaising with Clients/visitors in a professional manner and where necessary, carry out; inductions, site briefings of method statements and activities, daily inspections and record any changes. This will include taking photographs and record additional works found to the Project Manager/ Site Manager and ensure return to head office.

• Rail background
• Experience in high value works

Preferred qualifications:

• PTS (Personal Track Safety)
• PIC - Person In Charge
• SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme)

Other information:

• Most of our current projects are regional, therefore from time to time you may be required to lodge / work away
• Share driving / Full UK Driving Licence
• Flexibility to work nights / weekends

• Safe systems of work including safe access/egress of movements of rolling stock to be stabled on site
• Ensuring any plant required for stabled rolling stock is safe to use
• Safe storage, handling, use and transportation of articles and substances required for rolling stock stabled on site
• Information, training, instruction and supervision of staff associated with the stabling of rolling stock on site
• Safe access and egress to and from site
• Safe working environment and adequate welfare arrangements
• Liaison with clients / staff with regards to daily/weekly movements of rolling stock

Package dependent on experience and the PIC will be supported by 24 hrs security we have in place.
