Asset Engineer – Earthworks

£310- £427 per day

We are seeking an Asset Engineer – Earthworks to support examination and asset management activities within the Northwest region. This role is hands-on, safety-critical, and will involve working predominantly onsite to deliver earthwork examinations and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Essential Requirements

• COSS / IWA competency (operational railway).
• Previously assessed at Level 3 Competency in: (GEO-I-S) & (GEO-I-R)
• Proficiency with JBA Database and GizMapp tool.
• Experience producing high-quality examinations to CIV/065 standard.
• Knowledge of railway geography, capability, and safe systems of work (possessions, line blocks, blockades, etc.).
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• IT literate with a good understanding of operating systems.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Geotechnical Examination Team with planning activities, including access opportunities, possessions, worksites, and integration opportunities.
• Provide information to support the selection of access methods.
• Undertake and complete earthwork examinations safely and efficiently, adhering to relevant standards, method statements, and safe systems of work.
• Accurately record and report all examinations completed/not completed.
