Chief Rail Systems Engineer - Belgrade

EWI are supporting an international Engineering company who are currently seeking a highly experienced Chief Rail Systems Engineer to join their team and contribute to the success of a major metro project in Serbia

Responsibilities:

• Organise and oversee engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning works on systems and rolling stock.
• Review and provide recommendations on Contractor's plans and programs, participating in the planning and preparation of the dynamic work schedule.
• Monitor progress, issue orders for defect corrections, and ensure timely communication to avoid delays and claims.
• Verify materials' certifications and documentation for quality and compliance with standards.
• Supervise work quality, quantities, and costs, analysing subsequent and unforeseen works for Client decisions.
• Conduct detailed reviews of Statements and Draft Final Statements.
• Oversee internal control activities by Contractors, review documentation, and make recommendations for improvement.

• Review changes to design and proposals by Contractors, proposing decisions to the Client.
• Examine reports from Contractors, make remarks and suggestions, and propose legal actions when necessary.
• Suspend ongoing work for safety or quality concerns, initiate emergency works when required, and inform the Client promptly.
• Propose design solutions for efficiency and rational construction.
• Recommend suspension of works in case of identified irregularities that cannot be delayed.
• Control and approve as-built designs, participate in system testing and commissioning, and contribute to the handover process.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in rail project management.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in metro projects
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Team Leader for expert supervision or responsible contractor for metro construction or reconstruction projects exceeding € <phone number removed> (must be proved by employment certificates)
