Civil Engineer Rail - CRE in Waterloo, London, London, United Kingdom
Crewit Resourcing are working on behalf of a growing design consultancy with in a number of sectors, including rail and LU networks.
We are looking to recruit a Civil Engineer with experience in the rail network, ideally LU also and ideally signed off as CRE with Network Rail. The position is office based but will require travel to sites also.
To coordinate all design and construction activities with relevant sub-contractors and client representatives. The CRE is accountable for the day to day management and co-ordination of the technical and engineering activities within specific engineering discipline (civil) for a specific contract and to comply with Network Rail standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for confirming the engineering deliverables satisfy the requirements of the contract
• Responsible for the design including its capability to interface correctly with all other design disciplines.
• Approve and sign Form 002 & 003’s, drawings, WPP’s and CPP’s.
• Organise and manage design subcontractors to meet the requirements of each project.
• Ensure designs are buildable with particular consideration given to access arrangements, the railway environment and the Network Rail rule book when working on or near the line.
• Participate in IDC/IDR, project and sub-contractor meetings with the clients as required by each project.
• Provide engineering support for the client project team when called upon.
• Identify relevant Inspection and Test Plan requirements and ensure the required Inspection and Test plans are completed.
• Review red line drawings in conjunction with relevant Inspection and Test Plans and 10% on site check prior to arranging As-built drawings for the hand back file.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Engineering Degree Member of a Professional Institute
• Signed off CRE on Network Rail Projects
• PTS Trained
Experience:
• Experience working on the railway infrastructure in an engineering capacity Experienced in the South East rail network Technical Proficiency:
• Excellent detailed knowledge of Network Rail Standards and procedures. Experienced in delivering various Civil Engineer Projects from a building and design perspective.
• Knowledge of requirements of London Underground standards would be an advantage
