Commerical Manger
To support the Senior Commercial Manager in providing end to end Procurement support, delivering strategic commercial direction for projects and categories from concept through specification, contract and procurement, design, delivery, verification and operational support.
To manage enhancement activity and deliver value through: Supplier Relationship Management Supply Chain Management and the development and delivery of commercial best practice, processes, governance, guidance and tools.
To manage the provision of a professional compliant procurement service for allocated user stakeholders within the company. To succeed in the role the job holder will be required to deliver and sustain value for money contracts and framework agreements, communicate strategies and policies on TfLs responsible procurement and corporate H.S.E. requirements, approve compliant procurement strategies across 12–24-month horizon and bridge team skills and development gaps.
Knowledge
• Knowledge and experience of Public Sector Procurement- essential
• Knowledge or working within energy, media or marketing sector would be an advantage but not essential
• Qualified to CIPS professional standard or equivalent.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of current domestic and EU legislative requirements and proven experience in applying these to day-to-day procurement activities and documentation.
• Experience working with high-risk projects
Skills
• Computer literate and experienced in use of standard spreadsheet and Word Processing software packages.
• Ability to assimilate quickly new business systems such as SAP or other e-procurement and commercial systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to influence others both internally and externally up to Managing Director level through presentations, negotiation, and written reports.
• Able to work independently and able to work on own initiative
• Good stakeholder skills
Experience
• Ideally 5 years minimum within a Commercial manager role
• Experience with working on large portfolio of work
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders at any one time
• Experience in contract/purchase order management and administration and proven experience in developing and maintaining supporting office systems.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing and agreeing Contract terms and conditions and commercial schedules.
• Substantial proven experience in a procurement function involved in high risk, high value, complex works, services and supplies covering a range of commodities.
• A proven record in establishing contracts of this nature and leading commercial negotiations at a senior level is essential.
