Design Managers - MEPH/HVAC/Fire required to work for Principal Contractor on Major High Speed Rail London Tunnels Programme.
Contract - Inside IR35 - 12 Months initially
North West London
Hybrid Working Arrangements - 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH.
Role Brief:
As the Design Manager within the MEPH team, you will take a leading role in the completion of the Stage 5 (Design for Construction & Manufacturing) MEPH design. You will be the principle point of contact for design for the allocated subcontract supply chain members. Your role will oversee the delivery of the design on 12No assets along the line of route for the London Tunnels.
Key Responsibilities
Stage 5 Supply Chain Design Management:
-Management of Supply Chain Stage 5 Design Deliverables, ensuring that the supply chain submit quality deliverables in a timely manner
-Management of Stage 5 supplier queries, interfacing with supply chain and parties to provide responses in a proactive and collaborative manner.
-Reporting on progress of design for your subcontract packages, identifying key risks and issues and ensuring that these are communicated with the Package Manager (Delivery) and Commercial Package Manager.
Stage 4 Contractors Detailed Design:
-Management of Stage 4 design queries and defects. Supporting the Stage 5 designers with identifying these and managing the resolution
-Managing the Stage 4 resources allocated to your package, ensuring that they're resources are prioritised and allocated in an efficient manner.
CDM Management
-Work closely with the CDM lead to ensure that all CDM requirements are met
-Ensure that robust risk reviews are undertaken as defined in the process
-Ensure that CDM risks are appropriately communicated between the design parties and with the construction team.
Previous Experience & Skills Required:
-Experience of design management for Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems, including lifts, EMC, Fire systems, HVAC and BMS.
-Experience of detailed design within an MEP setting
-Have a knowledge of relevant policies and standards related to MEP Design
-Experience of working within a large scale self assured design environment.
-Capable of working independently and proactively to progress works but also skilled at working collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders for the overall benefit of the project.
-Experience in the management of the implementation of the requirements of the Construction and Design Management Regs 2015 in design
-Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD, Navisworks and Projectwise).
-Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication style to suite receiver.
