EHS Advisor
Location: Lincoln
Pay Rate: £300.00 - £350.00 per day (Outside IR35)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Our leading Rolling Stock client are seeking an experienced EHS Advior to join their Lincoln based team.
Role Overview
- Facilitate and support the effective management of health, safety and environmental risk.
- Ensuring legal compliance and deliver continual improvement in pursuit of excellence within Siemens Mobility.
- Provide competent Environmental, Health and Safety support to the depot management.
- Ensure implementation of the procedures and processes within the Business Managements system.
- Carry out site based pro-active monitoring activities of inspection and auditing.
- Produce HS&E reports.
- Raising and supporting others in raising issues identified, via the Notify system, shift reports and incident reporting forms.
- Promote a positive EHS culture.
- Support to the Senior EHS Advisor.
Deliverables
- Ensuring that all EHS legislation, customer and stakeholder EHS requirements (including Contractors and suppliers) and industry best practice is recognised and that all relevant policies and safe working procedures and practices are adopted.
- Helping to plan, implement, monitor and review the protective and preventative measures that are identified by the hazard analysis and risk assessment process.
- Ensuring that working practices are safe and comply with legislations.
- Outlining safe operating procedures, which identify and take account of all relevant hazards, and assist in the creation of suitable and sufficient risk assessments, ensuring control measures are effective.
- Delivering informal internal safety training courses to site-based staff / contractors.
- Advising depot management teams on safe systems of work and industry best practice, to ensure a positive EHS culture.
- Complete site inspections and audits in line with a published schedule to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and records of inspection findings are maintained.
- Producing internal EHS KPI reports to demonstrate continuous improvements.
- Attend internal and external EHS Meetings and deliver EHS presentations.
- Provide support to the lead investigator with all Incidents, Accidents, and investigations, advising of lessons learnt and potential improvements in work practices that are identified.
- Provide EHS advice to the depot management team.
- Liaising with other EHS Professionals within the business and industry.
- Assist the Senior EHS Advisor and /or EHS Manager as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 3 qualification in health and safety management
- Membership of an appropriate professional body (IOSH).
- 1 or more years relevant experience.
- Qualification in Internal Auditing (preferred)
- Accident Incident qualification or relevant experience.
