Based at Nexus Rail Headquarters, the Engineering Technical Manager (C&S) will report to the Engineering Manager Buildings & Infrastructure Services and be responsible for ensuring that Nexus Rail infrastructure and structural and civils assets are maintained and operating at optimum and economic levels that are compliant with the required standards.

Key responsibilities of this role include provision of professional technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, managing health & safety and control of maintenance and capital budgets. You will work with our maintenance management system to verify statutory maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and industry standards, whilst ensuring the most economic delivery of essential maintenance. This is an important and essential role delivering an effective maintenance and support function in close conjunction with the Engineering Manager Buildings & Infrastructure Services.

The successful applicant will hold a degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject and have demonstrable relevant experience and knowledge of assessing the condition of structural assets. Able to make autonomous decisions based on complex technical data you will be confident and capable of communicating your views effectively at all levels.

Chartered status (or working towards), experience within the railway industry and previous experience of line management are desirable.
