Were seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer ready to grow within a specialist team. Youll contribute to a broad range of ground-engineering projects, from initial data interpretation to practical design of foundations, retaining walls, slope stability and associated groundworks.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret site investigation data (soil/rock logs, laboratory test results, in-situ testing).
Assist in the design of piled, raft and shallow foundation solutions for buildings, bridges, highways and temporary works.
Contribute to slope stability assessments and design of retaining structures (gravity walls, reinforced earth, soil nailing).
Support temporary works design: piling platforms, excavation support, crane outrigger checks and haul road layouts.
Collaborate with senior engineers to prepare technical reports, drawings and design calculations.
Liaise with contractors, obtain on-site observations and feedback to refine designs.
Maintain clear documentation and adhere to health, safety and environmental standards.
Who You Are
Practical Background: Proven track record in geotechnical or ground-investigation roleseither consultancy or contractor sidedemonstrated by delivering or contributing to site investigations and data interpretation.
Technical Familiarity: Comfortable interpreting soil/rock data and using at least one geotechnical modelling or foundation-analysis software package.
Design Enthusiasm: Eager to develop hands-on design skills under the guidance of experienced geotechnical engineers.
Strong Communicator: Able to present technical findings clearly to project teams, clients and site personnel.
Collaborative Mindset: Works well across disciplines and values feedback from both engineering and construction colleagues.
Professional Development: Actively working towards, or holding, relevant chartership (e.g. ICE/MICE) is an advantage.
