Our client is a highly respected multi-disciplinary UK contractor who offer engineering services for both public and private sector clients. They are seeking an experienced individual to Head up there Estimating team.

This is a permanent position paying between £60,000 - £65,000. This company offers a very attractive benefits package such as 25 days holiday, pension contribution, company car and also a bonus scheme.

The suitable candidate will be responsible for the whole Estimating Function reporting to the Director for Work Winning. Key elements of the role include production of cost estimates, management of the estimating team and the strategic development of the estimating department to deliver the business plan set by the SMT as well as making a significant contribution to the on-going success and development of the company going forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimating function throughout the tender process to contract award. This includes but is not limited to the following
• Taking overall responsibility for all cost estimates and related information produced by the cost estimators and ensure validation of cost estimates prior to settlement.
• Ensure all cost estimate production complies with company procedures in particular the Pre Contract Manual.
• Attend tender settlements to lead / assist in presenting cost estimate and contribute to discussions on clarifications, risk and contribution levels.
• Liaise with Bid Managers / Senior Managers to ensure the entirety of cost estimate deliverables is managed and delivered to programme
• Maintain and update estimating templates, settlement presentation templates, staff rate calculation schedules, tender workbooks and other related pro-forma documents relating to the preparation and presentation of cost estimate information.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Department including
• Mentor members of the estimating team to improve their skills and capabilities
• Produce cost estimates as required

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

• Degree qualification
• 5 years minimum practical first principles estimating in rail infrastructure
• Fully competent in use of CAE estimating software
• Hold driving licence
• Ability to work on multiple tasks to rigid time constraints
• Able to produce and manage delivery of estimates to programme
• A strong background in Rail Infrastructure
