Head of Planning - Perm or Contract in Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Head of Planning required to work on a major infrastructure programme in Dublin.
Local candidates would be the preference however, candidates who are based in mainland England would also be consider but must be able to commit to working in Dublin 3 days a week. Both permanent and contract candidates will be considered.
The Head of Planning is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of schedule management processes across a range of infrastructure programmes. This includes the creation of integrated schedules, performance monitoring, and ensuring robust planning standards and tools are consistently applied.
The role demands significant expertise in scheduling, ensuring the provision of timely, accurate, and insightful planning data to support informed decision-making and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain consistent planning and scheduling standards, tools, and processes.
- Apply advanced planning and scheduling techniques to support robust programme baselines, forecasting, and performance assessments.
- Champion the value of schedule integration and transparent reporting to inform programme and stakeholder decision-making.
- Maintain a master integrated schedule across programmes, ensuring alignment with workstream schedules and key interfaces.
- Work closely with delivery teams to define programme schedules, critical paths, interfaces, and milestones.
- Support the Head of Programme Controls in leading a team of Planning professionals across the Programmes.
- Oversee the timely update of schedules, ensuring progress data and forecasts reflect realistic and achievable programme delivery.
- Lead schedule review workshops and planning coordination meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 15+ years' experience in planning and scheduling within major Infrastructure programmes of significant size and complexity.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing integrated programme schedules, progress management systems, and delay analysis.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams with complex interface and dependency management requirements.
- Third Level/Higher Education Qualification in a related discipline with knowledge of EU and Irish legislation relating to infrastructure delivery.
