Mechanical Package Manager

Location: Site Based between Cambridge & Chelmsford

Salary: Circa £68,000 - £73,000 commensurate on level of experience plus package including:

- £8000 car allowance /car
- 27 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Summary

A leading global, specialist engineering and construction company working across transportation, energy and civils infrastructure is looking to take on a Mechanical Package Manager to join their fabulous team at Cambridge and Beaulieu, Chelmsford

This is a site based role and will assist with the construction of the Cambridge South Station and the Beaulieu Station project.

The project comprises the construction of a new four platform railway station and associated infrastructure to provide a connection to Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with destinations such as central London, Stansted Airport, Ely and Birmingham.

The Role would be site based at either Beaulieu Park Station & Cambridge South Station so candidates must be happy to travel between the two when required

What you will be doing

- Managing and oversee the Mechanical, Public Health and BMS packages from preconstruction through to final handover.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
- Inform and exchange effectively with clients, contractors and team members to ensure project success.
- Managing the procurement and tender process
- Reviewing and affirming contractor proposals
- Ensures that the construction and installation teams are in control of their performance against agreed schedules and Person-hour budgets (Planned vs Actual measures).
- Ensure that the project team works to progressively complete handover documentation so that we are "fit to finish", complying with the contracted completion requirements of the Client, Network Rail, Greater Anglia and J Murphy and Sons.
- Organising the team pre, during and post construction on site, stakeholder and risk management.
- Lead on budget and change management.

Who are we looking for

- Previous experience working in a similar Mechanical Package Manager role.
- Experience working with Network Rail is essential.
- Experience working on complex construction projects, especially station builds, particularly in the Rail Sector
- NEC Contract knowledge
- Installation and Public Health experience
- Experience leading teams.
