The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist are seeking an Plant Equipment Specialist to join a global player in the construction sector specializing in major complex projects.
Opportunity
The resources will work in the Bidding Support & Project Start Up Team, as part of the Global Supply Chain department. The client ewi recruitment are one of the biggest contractors globally present in over 50 countries, specializing in the construction of large complex infrastructures and leaders in water engineering. The client works in metro systems, bridges, roads and motorways, civil and industrial buildings and airports.
Responsibilities:
- Studying tender documents, also preparing project presentation reports aimed at highlighting aspects and requirements relating to usage and productivity methods concerning equipment and systems;
- Participating in on-site inspections and preparing the related reports;
- Participating in meetings with the Tender Team;
- Participating in meetings with the Client and the local Authorities regarding Plant & Equipment issues with MOM's editing;
- To formulate bid requests, interfacing with the Plant & Equipment Specialists, responsible for drafting the technical specifications of the equipment and installation drawings, on site;
- Drafting comparative tables of the bids received, and their technical analysis, coordinating with the Plant & Equipment Specialists;
- Checking that technical specifications and characteristics of the equipment offered comply with local regulations;
- Coordinating with designers, the Tender Team and Plant & Equipment Specialists, to define the executive solutions, methods, productions, processing sequences, and work programme verifications;
- Drafting Plant & Equipment method statements, coordinating with the Plant & Equipment Specialists;
- Carrying out scouting activities on the local market, coordinating with the Procurement and Plant & Equipment functions, to check the availability and status of the equipment used, and to qualify and include local suppliers on the vendor list;
- Coordinating with the Tender Team and the Plant & Equipment function, to define the equipment Master List that defines the Investment and Amortization plan to include in the bid;
- In the phase immediately following the project awarding:
- Collecting and transferring data relating to Plant & Equipment to the Cost Control and Global Supply chain functions, both at the Corporate and Regional level;
- Assisting during the bid's start-up phase, until the on-site Plant & Equipment function is fully operational;
- Periodically dialoguing with Plant & Equipment Specialists, for technical updates and innovations.
Requirements:
- MsC in Mechanical Engineering or a similar degree;
- +5/7 years of professional experience in P&E activities, gained in structured and international organizational contexts, with particular regard to equipment and systems used to build infrastructure;
- Capable of reading technical drawings;
- Capability to work on matrix model with coordination roles
- Knowledge of the machinery, equipment and plants used in the construction sector;
- Available to travel and stay to/at worksites and at joint venture sites;
- Fluent written and spoken English;
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of a second foreign language
