Job Title: Project Commercial Assistant

Rate: £150-£175 per day
Duration: Minimum of 3 months

A leading client in the Rail Industry is recruiting for a Project Commercial Assistant to work on a contract basis, minimum of 3 months with opportunities for extension, based in Sandwell, West Midlands.

Key Accountabilities

†Measure works on site to assist in the payment valuation and variation processes. Undertake periodic valuations of works in progress. Prepare certificates for payment as appropriate.
†Support the commercial process by research and evaluation of information from contractors.
†Assist in preparation of estimates for works. Input cost and quantity information into estimating systems and produce reports.
†Assist in preparation of tender, pricing and contract documentation. Carry out cost analysis of accepted tenders.
†Prepare budgets and detailed estimates. Cost plan as necessary during development to meet financial targets.
†Prepare final accounts, including validation of contractor submission by measurement and quantification.
†Input data related to contracts into the companyâ€s project management reporting system.
†Working across a number of different projects involved in repairing bridges, structures etc.
†Required to put costs together, reporting cost of work completed ever 4 weeks, putting purchase orders onto the system for materials

Essential
†Basic knowledge of the construction / railway industry.
†Numeracy skills.
†Industry forms of contract.
†Computer literate.

Desirable
†Experience operating in a similar position, putting together costs, budgets, estimates etc
†Experienced with Excel and other MS office applications
†Civils background (as this will help getting quotes for materials)
†Experience of working within a commercial environment.
†Knowledge of basic estimating, valuation and cost reporting.
