Permanent
We're recruiting on behalf of a major UK infrastructure programme for a Project Controls Manager with experience in large-scale civil engineering delivery.
This is a programme-wide role with a particular focus on prelims, consents, and earned value. Youll sit within the central controls team, supporting project and contractor delivery across the route. Were looking for professionals who understand how cost, schedule, risk, and change integrate ideally with experience gained at Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor level.
The Opportunity
Youll play an active role in project decision-making, not just reporting numbers but shaping forecasts and driving delivery confidence. With increasing emphasis on earned value, progress estimation, and risk visibility, your insight will help steer the programme forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update integrated baselines (scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality)
- Lead project performance and earned value reporting
- Coordinate inputs from supply chain and delivery teams
- Identify trends, challenge delivery data, and support governance
- Facilitate schedule reviews and manage change control
- Support and develop junior controls staff
- Work cross-functionally with planning, commercial, and delivery teams
- Proven experience in project controls for infrastructure or engineering projects
- Strong working knowledge of systems like Primavera P6, PRISM, or similar
- Awareness of NEC3/NEC4 and how change is captured contractually
- Confident engaging with delivery teams to challenge assumptions and improve accuracy
- Able to support project teams with meaningful analysis and practical risk insight
Youll be part of one of the UKs most complex civil engineering programmes, reporting to a Senior Project Controls Manager. This role offers a meaningful step forward ideal for someone coming from a cost, planning, or controls background, looking to scale up into a broader programme-level role.
Whether you're already operating at this level or ready to step up from a smaller team, wed welcome applications that clearly demonstrate your experience using the STAR technique.
