THE COMPANY

You could get the opportunity of a lifetime to work for this Global Engineering and Technology business. Their UK operation employs around 600 people covering existing and “start-up” operations spanning eight locations including an award-winning depot down in Kent.

The company have secured a number of high profile orders with full lifecycle maintenance contracts as well as a lucrative contract worth £361m to deliver 22 five car and 7 nine car trains that will enter service by December 2018. To meet the demands on this contract they really need you! An aspiring electrically qualified Project Engineer who has a talent for stakeholder management.

ABOUT THE JOB

This is a fabulous role for a talented Project Engineer. In simplicity, you’re the “middleman” in reality you will be the link between the customer and the central engineering teams, putting your technical brilliance to good use making sure the trains gain unit acceptance against the train technical specifications (basically the brief!). You will report on progress, capture post production modifications and variations for the PM, taking engineering requests into the design team (and back again) and produce final snagging lists.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This role will suit you if you are an excellent people person with excellent powers of persuasion and negotiation seemingly able to make people believe it was their idea all along. As you will be developing an asset from an owner’s perspective you will need to have respect for what they are aiming to achieve whilst keeping in mind what is possible from a cost and technology perspective. You will have presence, engineering excellence and able to deputise for the Engineering Manager in his absence.

THE REQUIREMENTS

You’re the Project Engineer I am looking for if you can demonstrate a solid track record in rolling stock from an OEM or TOC supported by an HNC (as a minimum) in engineering discipline (ideally electrical!). If you have had experience working for a ROSCO then I want to talk to you too.

THE PACKAGE

• £50-55K + Pension + Healthcare + 25 Days Holiday + BH
