We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy who are looking to develop their engineering team in York by recruiting a Multidisciplined Project Manager who could work on some of the UKs leading engineering projects, such as HS2, Transpeninne Upgrade (Route & Power) and various other major frameworks. The successful candidate will have experience in a range of disciplines such as: railways, highways, geotechs, construction, etc.

As a Project manager your duties may include and are not limited to, providing a professional, consistent, and effective project management service to clients, where the successful candidate will liaise and engage with project team members to provide appropriate support to projects and bids.

You will also need to undertake contract reviews prior to project start up, as well as lead and direct a multi-disciplinary project team providing necessary support as required and be responsible for delivering the projects safely to agreed time, cost, and quality and in accordance with the Project Governance Process and Integrated Management System (IMS) and all other relevant systems and processes.

The successful candidate will provide project reports as required as well as provide project leadership by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, whilst ensuring that projects comply fully with all statutory and regulatory provisions including all health, safety, environment and CDM regulations.

Additionally, you will need to secure repeat business by leading, managing and coordinating bids as acting bid manager, as well as by building relations with clients; all in accordance with project governance and IMS procedures and in doing so proactively review, identify, and resolve any problems that may affect the project delivery.


Job Requirements:

• Design consultancy or infrastructure design industry related project management experience.
• Relevant experience managing multiple, major, or high-risk project(s).
• Membership of The Association for Project Management or membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset being able to consider commercial and financial aspects of the projects.
• Good understanding across all disciplines to effectively communicate and drive project team delivery.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work well under pressure.
• Environmental and sustainability knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience using the following software programs: Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and ProjectWise.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Capable of recognising and actively developing opportunities and provides value for money.
