Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Planner with significant experience in rail projects to join their team on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will see you work on a major rail infrastructure programme being delivered from Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules
- Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines
- Conducting periodic programme reviews and schedule maintenance
- Integrating risk management strategies into project plans
- Generating and presenting project reports to stakeholders
- Ensuring that the project adheres to all contractual requirements and goals
- Using software planning tools to create and manage project schedules
- Supporting the integration of multiple contractor submissions into the overall schedule
Job Requirements:
- Experience in major rail projects
- Knowledge of NEC4 schedule contractual requirements
- Proficiency in using basic and advanced IT systems
- Understanding of project/programme planning and scheduling tools, including P6
- Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels
- Ability to assess planning requirements and make pragmatic decisions
- Strong team leadership and motivational skills
- Experience in working with engineering, construction, and access disciplines
- Graduate level with strategic thinking capabilities
- Desirable Skills:
- Excellent presentation skills
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Visio for visualising schedules
- Knowledge in the use of Power BI
