Randstad are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor for one of our main utilities contractors on a freelance basis to join the company's water and utilities division.
The company is one of the largest privately owned construction firms in the UK specialising in utilities and civil engineering. Their turnover for the year 2021 was £255m and they have major projects located across the UK within their Water, Energy, Civils, Plant and Traffic divisions.
The candidate will be working on their Reactive Repair and Maintenance Schemes for the Southern Region involved with Capital Delivery. The scheme involves high volume and low value work and turns over £40m each year.
Randstad are looking for a Quantity Surveyor that has a background in Utilities/Civil. The candidate must have a detailed understanding of NEC contracts and ideally have worked on similar schemes/projects. The candidate must be able to drive within the Hampshire area to be able to go to different sites.
The role is on a freelance basis paying up to £400 per day. The client also offers some flexibility for individuals that may require this.

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience of commercial management
- Utilities/Civils background
- NEC Contract knowledge
- Past experience of construction projects
- RICS accredited or something of a similar level
- Valid CSCS
- Able to drive
- Good team player
- Strong focus on detail
- Able to hold their own and negotiable
