Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Company Overview: We are a major player in the construction industry, renowned as a tier 1 contractor with a solid track record of successfully delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. Currently, we are embarking on a unique £100 million Transport for London (TfL) infrastructure project that combines both highway and railway aspects. This project represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the city's transportation network. To support the project's success, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and take charge of subcontract management for packages up to £6 million, focusing on internal fit-out and M&E works as well final accoutns.

Job Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor on this prestigious TfL infrastructure project, you will play a critical role in managing subcontractors, ensuring commercial success, and delivering cost-effective results. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of subcontract management, accurately estimating costs, and effectively managing contractual agreements. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise in quantity surveying within a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontractors for packages up to £6 million, with a specific focus on internal fit-out and M&E works.
  • Collaborate closely with subcontractors, negotiating agreements and ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Final accounts.
  • Provide accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for subcontract packages.
  • Conduct comprehensive measurement and valuation of works, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Monitor project costs, identifying and addressing any cost variances or potential risks.
  • Prepare and review subcontract procurement documentation, including subcontractor selection, tender evaluation, and contract award.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to subcontract management activities.
  • Liaise with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to manage commercial aspects and resolve any issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the infrastructure or railway industry.
  • Sound knowledge of quantity surveying practices, construction methods, and relevant regulations.
  • Experience in subcontract management, particularly for packages involving internal fit-out and M&E works.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a proven ability to manage project costs effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
