Claims Expert - Major Rail Project (Philippines)

Lead Complex Claims & Dispute Matters on a Landmark Metro Programme

A global infrastructure consultancy is seeking an experienced Claims Expert to support Contract Package for 8km of track & stations on a major Rail/Metro project in the Philippines. This longterm assignment offers the opportunity to work clientside on one of Southeast Asia's most significant transport investments.

Role Overview

The Claims Expert will take a central role in managing all claims and disputerelated matters for the package, working closely with the Senior Claims Expert and Contract Manager. This position requires deep contractual expertise, strong analytical capability, and proven experience navigating complex engineering and construction claims within largescale rail environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all claims matters for track, structures and stations, including those arising from:
• redesign of stations
• PNR Track Recovery works (tracks, sleepers, stations, and other PNRowned assets)
• SC realignment
• Ongoing changes to site access dates across multiple batches
• Associated Extensions of Time (EOTs)
• Oversee all DesignBuild (DB) related matters for the package
• Report directly to the Senior Claims Expert on all claims and DB issues.
• Coordinate closely with the Contract Manager to gather and assess claims correspondence, prepare Engineer's determinations, and finalize position papers for DB proceedings.
• Support the Senior Claims Expert in reporting claims and DB matters to key project stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Degree Qualified
• Extensive experience in claims management within major infrastructure or rail projects.
• Strong understanding of FIDICbased contracts and DB delivery models.
• Proven ability to analyse complex technical and contractual issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholdercoordination skills.
• Prior experience on largescale international or ODAfunded projects is advantageous.
